When choosing a dance studio for your child there are many questions that you should ask yourself.

What is the facility like?

Dance studios should have mirrors from floor to ceiling so students can see themselves. Dance floors are important. Glen Dance Studio has a special "Marley" type dance floor over a sprung sublfloor to reduce fatigue and prevent unjury.   Observation monitors are in each studio, so parents can see their child's progress without distraction.  Glen Dance Studio has plenty of parking for the studio families.

What are the sizes of the classes?

Small classes are important for individual attention. Students ages 3-4 should be in classes of no more than 12 students. Often teachers will have assistants to help with younger classes. Older children should be with no more than 18 other students depending on the type of class, level, and size of the room.  Glen Dance Studio is very strict about the size of their dance classes.

Do students learn technique and terminology?

Unfortunately, many studios do not teach correct terminology for dance. At Glen Dance, we believe that even very young students are capable of learning the names of steps. It is imperative if the student continues their dance training.

What is the philosophy or mission of the school?

The studio's mission should be to provide classes that are both fun and educational. Many studios are fun; however the student does not learn proper technique. Many studios teach correct technique, but are too rigid and serious for a young child.  Glen Dance Studio will foster a love of dance, educate, and build self confidence.

What is the reputation of the studio?

Glen Dance Studio has earned an excellent reputation over the past 28 years.  It is the premiere dance studio on the North Shore.  Glen Dance Studio has been invited to perform at Six Flags, Disney, Lincoln Center, the Statue of Liberty, on a Celebrity Cruise Ship, and in London during the 2012 Summer Olympics!  Our dancers have gone on to dance in many colleges and universities and dance and teach professionally.  Check out our testimonials.
